About the licenses
Photos from Wikimedia Commons are used under the license shown next to each one, mostly Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) and Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA). Those licenses ask for the author, the license and a link to the original (and, for older versions, the photo's title). Each destination and road trip page shows the author, license and link on its main photo, and this page lists them all, titles included. Public domain and CC0 photos don't need a credit, but they're listed here too.
Photos from Unsplash are used under the Unsplash License (opens in a new tab), which doesn't require a credit. I credit the photographer wherever I know who it is.
On WanderRank, photos are resized, compressed and cropped to fit the page, and some have a dark shade over part of them so the text on top stays readable. When you share a page, its preview card may show the photo, cropped, next to the place name and the photo credit. Nothing else is changed.
